Problem Description: After installing hotfix 21, we are unable to login to the CFIDE admin interface which displays an error page. Errors on that page and in logs refer to Solr service failing to start.

Errors seen include:

"Error","localhost-startStop-1","11/02/16","11:55:26",,"Unable to initialise Solr service: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/tika/parser/Parser"

"Error","localhost-startStop-1","11/02/16","12:16:20",,"Unable to initialise Solr service: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/tika/parser/Parser"
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/tika/parser/Parser

Both of these seem to indicate missing libraries?

Looking deeper - I found that the hotfix removes these files (technically places them in the hotfix backup area):

So post hotfix 21 these files are not accessible to ColdFusion or Solr.

Did the hotfix mean to remove these? Did the hotifx plan on replacing them with something else that you forgot to provide?

Steps to Reproduce: Apply hotfix 21

Actual Result: CFIDE admin login page crashing, can't access admin area.

Expected Result: no crashing on CFIDE page

Any Workarounds: unknown

Shawn, looks like the update installation did not complete successfully. Can you check the /opt/coldfusion10/cfusion/hf-updates/hf-10-00021 for the update installation log for ERRORs. Update 21 replace those tika jars that you've mentioned with the different version of the library. So while you those 2 jars being removed in the hotfix_filelist log, you should also see the following entries: Added: C:\ColdFusion10\cfusion\lib\tika-core.jar Added: C:\ColdFusion10\cfusion\lib\tika-parsers.jar Can you pls. uninstall the update manually by running the uninstaller.jar, and install it again. For the steps, ref.
