In the database administration main datasource list;
1) Show the description of each database
2) Allow databases to be enabled/disabled.
3) Allow for an enabled database and disabled databases to have the same name.
This will facilitate being able to change an active database where changing the code to point to a different database isn't a straightforward process. The description display on the main list helps to further identify the database. This would make it easy to switch from environments such as Dev, QA, and Production.
